Senior Java/J2EE Architect; Real-Time, High Volume Production
Seeking a Senior Java Architect with a minimum of 7+ years in enterprise systems development and at least 5+ years Java/J2EE experience in high availability, high volume production system environments.
This person will be a key resource guiding the architecture of software developed by the team. The system is a real-time, event/message driven architecture with highly concurrent processing. This is product is very early in its development and has a ‘green field' opportunity.
Candidate should have a history of coordinating requirements from multiple sources into a single coordinated architecture and experience with Fixed Income instruments or closely related financial business is required.
Duties & accountabilities The successful candidate will - develop an architecture to supports all aspects of the Loans document management, trade management, syndication, and portfolio management systems. The core of this event based HA, low latency inventory management system. As the framework for these related products, robustness and flexibility are key. - Support the development team in representing key architectural decisions to business and the client implementation teams. - work with businesses to understand product demands on the overall software architecture and recommend/define appropriate solutions. Solutions must consider global scalability, high availability, and responsiveness in a global web and installed desktop environment
Business competencies Education and experience - BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering - 7+ years in enterprise systems development. - 5+ years Java/J2EE experience - Illustrate a history of coordinating requirements from multiple sources into a single coordinated architecture.
Commercial awareness - Experience with Fixed Income instruments or closely related financial business is required. - Knowledge of the Commercial Loans settlement space is a strong plus.
Technical Skills & Hands on experience must include: - dealing with high availability, high volume production systems - working in a event based environment. - JMS, JSP, JSF, AJAX, JMX - experience with WebShere MQ - extensive understanding of available middleware, database and front end technologies related to presentation of financial data. - Experience working with modern frameworks, enterprise buses, relational databases, SOA and multi-tier architectures.
