Data Modeler for Wealth ManagementCategory: Database Description: Major Global Financial Firm Salary: 110K - 130K + Bonus Position: Permanent Location: New York, NY Job Number: 4385Details: Position Description:
Perform analysis to determine information requirements. - Analyze data models to ascertain functionality. - Assist with development and ongoing maintenance of data modeling environment. - Participate in development of core application and data warehouse data models. - Work with application developers to map process models to data models. - Perform logical and physical OLAP / OLTP schema design. - Develop capacity plans for new and existing systems. - Achieve reuse of existing structures and models. - Reverse engineer and document existing database. - Design and guide the implementation of process flows. - Provide modeling assistance to developers; both conceptual and technical
Skills Required:
- 10 years experience data modeling; both logical and physical.
- Good data administration skills.
- Ability to derive data models through requirements gathering with developers and end users.
- Excellent Experience with data modeling tools like Erwin.
- Experience developing both OLTP and Data Warehousing data models.
- Solid understanding of relational databases (DB2, SQL Server, Teradata (is a plus)
- Good writing skills for technical and user documents.
- Solid understanding of process engineering concepts such as UML modeling.
- Process oriented, focused on standardization, streamlining, and implementation of best practices.
- Excellent problem solving skills; proven teamwork, and communication skills.
- Experience in the financial brokerage industry.
- Self-starter and highly motivated towards success.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills.
